Learning and Teaching Innovation Centre

The Learning and Teaching Innovation Centre (LTIC) inspires innovation by learning and sharing what is possible with others, and through leading the development of excellent educational experiences for all our students. Our work is aligned with four key areas:

Continuing Professional Development:  We provide support for staff throughout their academic careers including initial opportunities to gain a teaching qualification (CPAD) and then continuing support to enhance and recognise their learning and teaching expertise (CPD Framework). Working across the University we enable the dissemination and sharing of good practice in learning and teaching.

Technology Enhanced Learning:  We work closely with academic Schools and central departments within the University to advise on the adoption of learning technologies, enabling movement from isolated innovation to wide scale implementation. Our expertise supports flexible learning including technology in the classroom, mobile learning and the development of online distance learning programmes.

Outcomes for all:  Through our widening participation and outreach work we aim to raise aspirations and attainment in Hertfordshire schools encouraging students to consider university courses. We aim to transform lives through success for all UH students, ensuring those from under-represented and disadvantaged groups have positive outcomes in all measures including retention, attainment and employability.

Employability and Enterprise:  We work in partnership with academic Schools to support curriculum design ensuring employability development and workplace learning is embedded within programmes. Our expertise in degree apprenticeships helps Schools to design effective programmes appropriate for both employers and their employees wishing to study whilst working.
